Sometimes the Perfect Piece Just Needs a Little Tweaking
Have you ever bought something you've wanted for years, only to discover it wasn't quite as perfect as you'd imagined?
That's exactly what happened to one of our lovely clients.
She had finally treated herself to the chunky gold bangle she'd always dreamed of owning. It was beautiful, it was solid, and it ticked all the boxes... at first.
But after wearing it for a while, she realised something wasn't quite right. It wasn't as comfortable as she'd hoped, and although she loved the idea of the bangle, the profile just didn't suit her wrist the way she'd imagined.
Rather than letting it sit in the jewellery box, she came to Jewellers Vault with a simple question:
"Can you fix it?"
The answer was yes!
We sat down together and talked through exactly what she liked, what she didn't, and what she wished was different.
By adjusting the profile of the bangle, we transformed the way it sat on her wrist. The result was a piece that felt comfortable, looked exactly how she'd envisioned it, and became something she genuinely loved wearing.
The best part?
It was still her original gold. The sentimental value remained, but the design now suited her perfectly.
Sometimes, the difference between a piece you admire and a piece you wear every day is just a few carefully considered changes.
If you have jewellery that's *almost* right, don't assume you're stuck with it. A conversation with an experienced jeweller might be all it takes to turn "good enough" into your new favourite piece.

Would You Rather... Have Lots of Smaller Diamonds or One Giant Diamond? 💎
Alright, jewellery lovers, it's time to settle a very important debate.
Would you rather have lots of smaller diamonds sparkling away together, or one giant diamond that steals the show?
Neither answer is wrong - it all comes down to what makes you smile every time you look down at your hand.
If you're on Team Lots, you probably love sparkle. Smaller diamonds catch the light from all different angles, creating a dazzling display that's hard to ignore. Whether it's a halo, a cluster design or a diamond-studded band, there's something magical about dozens of tiny flashes of light working together.
If you're on Team Giant, you appreciate a true statement piece. One beautiful centre diamond has a way of commanding attention without saying a word. It's timeless, elegant and lets the stone speak for itself.
The funny thing is, we have this conversation in the workshop all the time. Some clients walk in dreaming of the biggest centre stone they can find, while others would happily spread that same budget across lots of smaller diamonds to maximise sparkle.
The best part? There's no right answer.
Jewellery is personal. It's not about what everyone else likes - it's about what feels like you.
So... what are you choosing?
💎 Lots of smaller diamonds?
or
💎 One giant diamond?
Let us know - we'd love to see which side wins!

Some jewellery ideas stay in the back of your mind for years.
This client had always dreamed of owning a beautiful bangle. Not just any bangle, though - one that felt completely her own. There was just one problem. Every time she found one she loved in a jewellery store, it never quite fit. With smaller wrists, buying one straight off the shelf simply wasn't an option.
Instead of giving up on the idea, she started collecting inspiration.
Whenever she spotted a bangle that caught her eye, she'd make a mental note. Maybe it was the shape. Maybe it was the texture. Sometimes it was the way the clasp disappeared into the design, or the balance between bold and delicate. Little by little, she built a picture of her perfect bangle without even realising it.
When she came to Jewellers Vault, she brought something even more meaningful than inspiration - she brought family gold.
Rather than letting those sentimental pieces sit tucked away in a drawer, we were able to transform them into something she had dreamed about for years. A piece that would carry the memories of the past while becoming part of her everyday future.
Together, we combined all the little design details she'd admired over the years into one completely original design. Because it was handmade specifically for her wrist, the fit is just as special as the design itself. No compromises. No "close enough." Just a bangle that feels like it was always meant to be hers.
There's something incredibly rewarding about creating jewellery that simply can't be bought in a shop. It's personal, sentimental and designed around the person who'll wear it - not the other way around.
Family gold doesn't have to stay hidden away. Sometimes, it becomes the beginning of a piece you've always wanted but could never quite find.

Have you ever taken your ring off, flipped it over, and spotted a tiny section at the back that looks like it's a slightly different colour?
Don't panic - you might have just discovered a little clue about your ring's history.
When one of our lovely clients brought her ring in for its annual clean, polish and rhodium plate, we noticed a small section at the back that was just a touch different in colour. She hadn't even noticed it herself, but to us, it was a clear sign that the ring had been resized at some point in its life.
So why does this happen?
White gold is actually made from yellow gold that's been mixed with other metals to give it a whiter appearance. The catch is that there are many different alloy recipes, and every jeweller or manufacturer may use a slightly different combination. That means matching the exact shade of white gold years later is almost impossible.
When a ring needs to be made larger, we carefully cut the band, add a small piece of matching gold, then solder it back together. Even though we use the closest match possible, that new piece can sometimes be ever so slightly different in colour to the original band.
That's one of the reasons white gold jewellery is usually finished with rhodium plating. Rhodium gives white gold its bright, crisp white appearance while also helping disguise those tiny colour variations, leaving the ring looking beautifully uniform again.
It's a great reminder that the little details on your jewellery often tell a story. That tiny patch at the back isn't a flaw - it's simply evidence that your ring has been carefully altered to fit its owner perfectly.
The more you know!

July's Birthstone: Ruby – A Little Spark with a Lot of Heart
If July had a personality, we'd like to think it would be a ruby.
Bold. Warm. Full of life. And impossible to ignore.
Rubies have been treasured for centuries, not just because of their incredible colour, but because they've long been associated with love, passion, courage and protection. It's no surprise they're one of the most sought-after gemstones in the world.
That rich, velvety red isn't just beautiful either. The finest rubies are incredibly rare, making them one of the most valuable coloured gemstones you can own.
Whether you're lucky enough to have a July birthday or you're simply drawn to their vibrant colour, rubies make a stunning choice for jewellery that's designed to be worn and loved for generations.
And here's the best part - rubies don't have to be reserved for birthdays. They also make a meaningful gift for anniversaries, milestones, or simply because you fell in love with the stone.
Some gemstones whisper. Rubies have always preferred to make an entrance.
