From Hinged to Solid: A Beloved Bangle’s Transformation
Some pieces of jewellery are so special, they become part of who we are. For one of our clients, it was her hinged bangle — a piece she had worn and loved for years. But over time, her constant trips back to the jeweller to have it repaired left her frustrated. The culprit? The safety chain.
If you look closely at the before photo, you’ll see why. The bangle itself was beautifully sturdy, yet the safety chain designed to keep it secure had worn so thin it was paper-like. Understandably, our client refused to wear the bangle without it, but she also didn’t want to face endless repairs for the same issue.
That left her with two options:
1. Replace the safety chain.
2. Start fresh with a brand-new bangle.
After some thought, she decided on the second option — a solid bangle. This way, she could avoid the fragile safety chain altogether and enjoy a piece that was just as special, but far more durable for daily wear.
We carefully transformed her beloved hinged bangle into a brand-new, solid version. It carries the same sentimental value but is now designed to last without the worry of repeated repairs. A once-delicate piece has been reimagined into a strong, elegant, and soon-to-be beloved new treasure.

Jewellery Myth Busted – "Diamonds are Indestructible"
When we think of diamonds, we often picture them as unbreakable, everlasting, and immune to damage. After all, they’re known as the hardest natural substance on Earth. But here’s the truth: while diamonds rank highest on the Mohs scale of hardness, making them resistant to scratching, they’re not indestructible.
A sharp blow in just the right spot can cause a diamond to chip or crack. This is why jewellers always recommend removing your ring when lifting weights, doing heavy gardening, or working with tools. The hardness protects against scratches, but not against sudden impact.
At Jewellers Vault, we love helping our clients care for their precious pieces. With regular cleaning, inspections, and mindful wear, your jewellery can last for generations without losing its brilliance. So, yes, diamonds are strong—but they still deserve a little TLC.

A Love That Shines Through Generations
When this beautiful couple came to us in preparation for their wedding day, they had a vision — not just for rings, but for meaning. Instead of picking something off a shelf, they wanted to honour their families and their shared future in one perfect gesture: by combining their inherited heirlooms into custom wedding bands!
Each of them had treasured pieces passed down from loved ones — rings, chains, and heirlooms that held deep meaning, but had spent years tucked away, unworn. Rather than let them gather dust, they chose to give these pieces new life, reshaped into something they could wear every day.
Together, we designed two unique rings: distinct to each person, yet clearly connected. They reflect not just their love for each other, but the generations of love that brought them here — a true blending of history, heritage, and heart.
Their new wedding bands aren’t just beautiful — they’re rich with story. And that’s what makes them priceless.
💍✨ Thinking of transforming your own family heirlooms into something wearable? There's no better way to honour the past while creating something for your future.

Tiny Part, Big Problem: Why Finals Matter on Your Chain
When our client came in with a chain that had mysteriously slipped off her neck, she was stumped — there was no break, no visible damage, just an empty clasp.
But we knew what to look for. After a quick inspection, we found the issue: the final (the small metal tube or cap that finishes the end of your chain and connects it to the clasp) had worn down so thin that it had slipped right through the barely-there gap in the parrot clasp. That gap is tiny — thinner than a business card — so for a final to slip through, it means it's been worn down to almost nothing.
This kind of wear is rare, but not impossible. Most of the time, finals break before reaching this stage. But when wear happens slowly over time, it can go unnoticed — until your chain falls off and disappears behind the couch (or worse).
For this client, we didn’t just replace the worn final. We rebuilt both ends of the chain — because when one final is that worn, the other usually isn’t far behind. Now, her chain is back on her neck, strong, secure, and ready to wear again.
🔍 So what is a final, anyway?
The final (sometimes called an end cap or end tab) is the small metal part at the end of your chain that connects to the clasp. It may not be flashy, but it’s doing serious work — and when it wears thin, your chain is at risk.
✨ Pro tip: If you wear your chain daily, check your finals once in a while — especially if your chain is vintage or has sentimental value. If they’re getting sharp or paper-thin, it's time for a repair. Better safe than sorry!
