The Coolest Pearls Are Anything But Perfect
With June just around the corner, it’s time to bring in the birthstone of the month—but with a twist.
We’re talking Fresh Water Baroque natural pearls—each one a little wild, a little wonky, and completely wonderful.
These aren't your typical round pearls. In fact, the term Baroque refers to their irregular, non-spherical shapes. Some are bulbous, some a little squiggly, and others are straight-up rebellious. But that’s what makes them so beautiful. These aren't factory-made clones. They’re one-of-a-kind gems shaped by nature’s hand, not a human mold.
You might be wondering, What do you even do with pearls like these? Our answer: anything you want! From whimsical statement earrings to breathtaking pendants, the creative potential is endless—and we’d love to see your ideas. Got a vision for how you’d use these unique pearls? DM us your designs or tag us in your creations!
A fun fact while you dream:
Perfectly round pearls are incredibly rare. Most natural pearls have little bumps, textures, and quirks. And if you see one that’s flawlessly smooth and spherical? There’s a good chance human hands were involved in shaping its journey. Natural beauty often lies in imperfection.
Remember, pearls aren’t mined—they’re grown. Formed inside mollusks, a pearl begins with a single irritant. Over time, the mollusk coats it in layers of nacre, creating that lustrous surface we all admire. It's a slow, fascinating, organic process.
So here's to pearls that don't play by the rules. Here's to individuality. Here's to June.

A Grandmother’s Legacy, A Bride’s New Beginning
There’s something undeniably powerful about sentimental jewellery. More than gold and stones, these pieces carry stories, emotions, and history. They’re worn not just for beauty, but for the memories they hold and the connections they represent.
One of our recent clients reminded us just how special this can be. As her wedding day approached, she was searching for a way to honour the presence of someone very dear to her—her grandmother. Although her grandmother could no longer be physically present, her spirit, strength, and love still held a special place in the bride’s heart.
Then came the idea—what if her grandmother’s ring could be a part of her wedding day?
When she showed us both her grandmother’s vintage ring and her own engagement ring, we were stunned! The colours… they were a perfect match. As though they were destined to be together.
The only hinderance for this client was the style of her grandmothers ring - she loved her grandmother something fierce, but they had some very different style choices. So, how could her grandmothers' precious ring be a part of this wedding day?
This client realised that the memories lay in the gold and in the stones, not just in the rings' design. So, why not create something she could wear daily to honour her grandmothers' memory, and make sure she was an important part of a very special wedding day?!
Together, we designed a custom wedding ring using the gold and stones from her grandmother’s ring. We crafted a piece that symbolised generations of love, resilience, and family. A new ring with old roots—a beautiful blend of past and present.
It’s a reminder that jewellery can do more than sparkle—it can speak. And on that wedding day, it will say: “She is with you.”

Design Diaries: A Colourful Stack of Possibilities
One of our favourite parts of the custom jewellery journey is the design stage — when the possibilities are endless and creativity runs wild!
A little while ago, a client brought in an amazing mix of stones: a vibrant blue heart, two soft pink triangles, two rich red squares, and a striking marquise-cut red gem. Her request? A set of stacking rings that would showcase each of these treasures in a unique, wearable way.
We got to work sketching up a few design options, carefully balancing colours, shapes, and proportions to ensure each stone had its moment to shine. At Jewellers Vault, we draw each design to size, so what you see is what you get! We presented her with three different layouts, each offering a different take on how her stones could come together as a cohesive yet striking ring stack.
We just loved the challenge and the process of visualising something so bold and beautiful, so we thought we'd share the experience with you!
So, which design speaks to you most? Let us know in the comments! Your feedback helps us grow and reminds us how much beauty can come from collaboration and imagination.

From Memories to Molten: The First Step in Reimagining Your Jewellery
Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes when you bring us your old jewellery to be reimagined into something new? One of the very first — and most magical — steps is melting the gold.
Before we begin, each piece is carefully examined, and the stones are meticulously removed and set aside for reintegration later. Then the transformation begins: we place the gold into a crucible, a heatproof vessel that allows us to melt it down safely. Watching the solid gold turn molten is a captivating reminder of just how much potential lies in something old.
Once melted, the gold is poured into an ingot mould — a long, rectangular form that sets the stage for creativity. This shape allows us to roll it, bend it, and file it into anything the design calls for, from elegant bands to intricate pendant frames.
This process isn’t just about creating new jewellery — it’s about honouring the past while crafting something for the future. Every piece starts with a flame, and we’re so honoured to be part of that journey.

Throwback... Wednesday? We couldn't wait for Thursday!
Almost a year ago, we crafted something so unique, we’re still talking about it today — and for good reason! If you've seen this one before, fall in love with it again!
The challenge of this ring? To make the gold look as raw and untouched as possible — like a natural nugget pulled straight from the earth. Using a combination of controlled melting, burrs, and texture wheels, we let the metal tell its own story. The result was a rich, rugged surface that cradles a claw-set sapphire in its centre, blending elegance with raw craftsmanship.
We learned so much from this piece. How gold behaves under flame, how texture can transform perception, and most of all, how inspiration can come from just one bold idea. Nugget rings don’t come along every day — maybe once every 20 years, if that — so we made this one count.
We had so much fun with this project that we wondered, how can we do this more? We fell in love with the natural, textured finish of this ring, and it quickly dawned on us that sand-cast pieces give off a similar look! And that, ladies and gentleman, is how Jewellers Vault came to sand-casting pieces.
This ring will always hold a special place in our hearts at Jewellers Vault. It reminded us that even old gold can be reborn, and even bold risks can shape the future of design.
