Preserving Memories: The Restoration and Remaking of a Cherished Wedding Set
Some jewellery is so much more than metal and gemstones; it holds cherished memories, love, and a lifetime of stories. Recently, we had the pleasure of working on a very special project to help a client preserve her wedding and engagement rings, both of which held immense sentimental value.
The client came to us after losing a stone from both her wedding ring and her engagement ring. Upon inspection, we discovered that the wedding ring's band had thinned over time, and unfortunately, simply replacing the stone wasn’t a long-term solution. The structure was so delicate that further repairs were imminent when another stone fell out. Knowing how much this ring meant to her—it was a symbol of her marriage, given to her by her husband—we suggested recreating the ring using the original gold and stones. This approach allowed us to preserve the original design she loved, ensuring she could continue to wear it with pride, remembering her special day every time she looked at it.
At the same time, we addressed her engagement ring, which had worn down over years of love and wear. Luckily, we were able to restore the engagement ring with a few adjustments, keeping its original structure intact while making it more durable for years to come.
It was an honour to bring these beautiful rings back to life, allowing our client to continue her story with pieces that mean so much to her. Helping clients preserve their memories is what makes our work truly special.

The Art of Preservation: Redesigning a Family Heirloom Wedding Set
Jewellery is more than just adornment; it carries memories, history, and a connection to loved ones who came before us. One of our recent projects beautifully illustrates the delicate balance between preserving heritage and adapting to modern needs.
Our client brought us a cherished wedding set that had carried her through her love-filled marriage for many years. She wanted to pass this treasure down t her daughter, ensuring that it remained in her family for years to come. However, there was a challenge — the new recipient had a very different finger size! Resizing the rings as far as they had to go would have risked compromising the integrity of the metal, therefore endangering the diamonds. In cases where resizing would cause potential damage to the structure or setting, alternative solutions are essential.
Instead of modifying the original design, we opted to recreate it entirely. Using the same gold and diamonds, we meticulously crafted an identical set in the new, perfect size. This approach preserved not only the original beauty of the set but also its sentimental value, ensuring it could be worn and cherished as intended.
Preserving the original essence of this gorgeous set is truly an art of preservation, and we are proud to have been part of this journey.
