Ah, the question of the week - and honestly, the question of every week…
“Can't you do it while I wait?”
With Christmas just around the corner, this one has been popping up more often than diamonds in December proposals! And while we absolutely love the enthusiasm (and we love fixing your treasures even more), there are a few reasons why “while you wait” isn't really our style.
1. The pressure! The eyes! The stress!
Ever had someone stand over your shoulder while you're trying to work? Suddenly your fingers don't move the way they normally do, your brain forgets how to brain, and even simple tasks feel like assembling a jet engine.
Now imagine that, but with your precious heirloom in our hands.
No thank you!
2. Most repairs aren't “quick fixes”
While we wish we had a magic wand hidden under the bench, most repairs take at least 30 minutes of concentrated work — often more.
And we know you're busy…
No one wants to sit around our workshop for half an hour or more (as lovely as we are).
3. There's a little thing called a queue
This one is one of the big ones! We have jobs already booked in, patiently waiting their turn like good little jewellery pieces. It wouldn't be fair to bump them just because someone walked in and asked nicely — even if you really are very charming!
So while we adore you, and we absolutely want to help you sparkle again as soon as possible, “while you wait” repairs just aren't the safest or fairest way to do what we do.
We promise we'll take good care of your piece — we just need a little time and space (and no eyes peering over our shoulder!).

The Mighty Crucible
One of the most important (and perhaps underrated!) tools in our workshop is the crucible - a humble-looking clay cup that does some truly incredible work.
The crucible is where the magic of transformation happens - it allows us to melt down our clients' gold so we can pour it into an ingot and begin the next stage of its journey.
Made from high-grade clay, a crucible can withstand temperatures of over 1200°C, making it perfect for melting gold - which itself melts anywhere between 880°C and 1064°C depending on its purity. 🔥
We keep a range of crucible sizes in the workshop, depending on how much metal we need to melt. But here's something you might not know - we never use the same crucible for different metals or carats. That means one crucible for 9ct yellow gold, another for 18ct, another for white gold, and so on.
Why? Because mixing metals risks contaminating our clients' precious and sentimental gold — and that's something we simply won’t do. Each melt deserves its own clean, pure start. ✨
It's small, it's simple, but it's one of the most vital parts of what we do. The crucible truly keeps the heart of our workshop burning bright. ❤️🔥

Restoring Strength Without Losing Soul
At first glance, this repair might look simple - a quick fix for a broken band, right? Not quite!
When this sentimental ring came to us, it was clear that a simple patch-up wouldn't do the job justice. The band had worn dangerously thin, and the bezel setting that held the black stone was beginning to fall apart. If we'd simply repaired the break, it likely would have snapped again… and risked losing the stone entirely!
This ring meant far too much to our client to let that happen, so we set out to restore both its beauty and its strength. We rebuilt the bezel section, replaced the fragile back of the band with a new, thicker ½ shank, and made sure the intricate detailing on the shoulders remained untouched.
Now, this ring is ready for everyday wear once more - strong, secure, and still carrying every bit of its original charm. 💍
Because sometimes, a "simple fix" deserves a little extra love.

Some clients become part of our story just as much as we become part of theirs - and this lovely client has been with us for quite a while! Over the years, we've created, repaired, and restored a variety of her pieces. This time, she came to us with a new challenge: a couple of rings that had been sitting unused, and a small block of leftover gold from her last project.
Her vision? A sleek, comfortable bangle she could wear day to night - elegant enough for a gala, but practical enough for every day.
So that's exactly what we made! Using her existing gold, we handcrafted a bangle with our signature slightly rounded profile - designed for both beauty and comfort. The end result? A timeless piece that carries a story, repurposed memories, and the unmistakable touch of craftsmanship.
